David Disiere is a highly successful entrepreneur, having built two of the largest Managing General Agencies in the United States, along with other business units within commercial and residential real estate, oil and gas, agriculture and automotive. His business endeavors span all the way to China where he founded and incorporated a pig farm, cattle ranching here in the United States, and three car dealerships in Dallas, Texas.

But the mainstay of David Disiere’s career has centered on commercial transport insurance. David Disiere is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of QEO Insurance Group, but prior to launching QEO, David was the powerhouse behind Deep South Insurance, which grew to become one of the largest MGA’s of its type in the United States. It was purchased in 2008 for $190 million by QBE U.S. Agencies, a subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group, which is one of the 25 largest insurance and reinsurance companies in the world.

David continued to serve as the company’s CEO for 18 months after the sale to ensure a successful transition, then went on to establish QEO Insurance Group, a turnkey operation providing commercial transportation insurance. QEO is a specialty underwriter facility primarily serving the energy, construction, and local and intermediate delivery markets.

In an industry that is currently under a lot of pressure, QEO is thriving, which David attributes to their ability not only to handle losses better, but to get the numbers right. Their internal motto is “you can’t be stupid for free”, and the key to their success is going further than most insurers to collect historical, company and vehicle information to ensure more accurate forecasting. QEO also underwrites a lot of business that other companies don’t, creating a lucrative niche in the commercial transportation segment.

Similar to his leadership style with Deep South Insurance, David remains highly involved in every part of QEO’s business, particularly in the management of losses and authorizations. The company today employs over 60 staff in two regional offices in Dallas, TX, and Miramar, FL, and was recently certified as a great workplace by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work®. QEO Insurance Group earned this certification based on extensive ratings provided by its employees in anonymous surveys.

Philanthropy also plays a pivotal role at QEO, with involvement in charitable programs that benefit children across Texas and the nation through the David & Teresa Disiere Foundation, which David has big expansion plans for over the coming years.
